A Sherlock Holmes-esque Library
Finding a place for a suite of armor and a bust of Shakespeare!
As I added a project to our website this morning some humorous thoughts ran through my mind. This project (as a whole) was a bit outside our comfort zone of clean lines and less is more. But it is full of so many wonderful pieces…and it was a joy to ‘curate’ this client’s collections (so many things to discover and look at!). After much thought and discussion we decided that the library would become a treasure trove for some of his collections…and our thought was to create a collected Sherlock Holmes-esque space…a space that feels full of ones’ favorite items.
We started with a blank space, painted the vaulted ceiling/walls, added the unique wood chandelier, the warm wood blinds and colorful window panels, and then layered the space with art, antiques, and the client’s collections.
I think we were successful…I would love to sit in that space, put my feet up, and read a good book!

Here’s to creating splendid spaces!
