Kid-Friendly Family Room Makes a Statement

The concept for this family room renovation was to create a space that combined a 'grown-up' style with 'kid friendly' elements since it is the main living/entertaining space for a family of four. The client wanted the room to have a 'collected look'... as if the room had evolved over years.

The project scope included a layout of new and existing furniture, window treatments, flooring, a paint/color scheme, and accessorizing using family pieces/collections.

During an antique outing with the client, we found some lovely early 20th century English porcelain tiles, which became the inspiration for the soft beige and green color palette in the room.

We framed the tiles, integrated them with pieces from the client's personal collection, and created a focal point above the fireplace.

Specific furniture pieces were individually selected for the room, keeping in mind the client's desire for an eclectic, yet cohesive appearance.

We transformed what once felt like a small, dark, space into a light-filled, elegant family room highlighting the client's special pieces and memories.
