Updating Spaces from 1990's to Now

The clients for this project knew they wanted to update specific spaces in their custom home that was built in the 1990's. Gone is the bright, patterned wallpaper of the pastand in its place is a more neutral, gentle, color palette with pops of accent color that brings a fresh new look to their home.

Kitchen
In this space, the client had already updated their appliances and countertops. But they wanted continuity in the details and asked us to 'finish' the space.

We designed a tile-pane, detail to create a focal point behind the corner sink. We then continued the tile and border on the backsplash throughout the rest of the kitchen.
Crown molding was added to the soffit as architectural interest.
Simple, scalloped, valances soften the windows and mimic the lines of the glass shades in the new light fixtures.
A soft green paint color on the soffit defines the architecture of the room and connects the space.

Master Bedroom
Softening this space was the design priority. The client likes pattern and color and wanted to keep those elements in the room. We decided to use neutral tones of yellow with subtle pattern as seen in the painted tone-on-tone wall stripes and new carpet. Additional color and pattern were layered in the space with the window panel fabric and bedding.

Master Bathroom
This is what we call a facelift... creating a new space while working with many of the existing fixtures and finishes.

Since we were not able to design a new layout for the space, we began by creating a focal wall... which is comprised of two new mirrors trimmed in detailed molding and graceful light fixtures above. We continued the molding details by adding crown molding and wall panels.
The client wanted to keep existing wall tiles so we coordinated new finish selections to compliment those colors. To soften the sink cabinet we had it painted and over-glazed, with new cabinet hardware. We also selected a new solid surface countertop and floor tiles.
We continued the graceful feeling of the room by selecting sinks and faucets with edge detailing.
